The GaAs/AlGaAs optical neurochip with variable synaptic interconnections

Abstract

Our paper examines the optical learning chip which acquires knowledge from the external circumstances in real time. The key to its success is to develop a variable sensitivity photodiode (VSPD) with the combined functions of the analogue spatial light modulator and the photodiode.
