Frequency doubling with potassium niobate in an external cavity

Abstract

We report an investigation of frequency doubling with potassium niobate (KNbO3) in an external buildup cavity driven by the light from a cw, Ti:supphire (Ti:Al2O3) laser. Measurements of conversion efficiency have been made over a range of operating conditions and have been compared in absolute terms with a simple theoretical model.
