Design and transversal mode structure of stable Nd-YAG-oscillators with stimulated Brillouin scattering mirrors

Abstract

Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) of laser radiation in liquids or gases has been applied increasingly in the last years for building phase conjugating mirrors. These are self-pumped and therefore easily applicable if the incident intensities or powers are high enough. The phase conjugating properties of these mirrors are successfully used for compensating phase distortions in high power laser systems.1,2
