Abstract
We recently reported measurements of vibrational (Q-branch) Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) in molecular oxygen.1 Using the second harmonic of a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser at 0.532 M, the peak 1st Stokes conversion efficiency was found to be approximately 6% and was limited by thermal effects resulting from energy deposition in the cell. In this paper we report new measurements of vibrational SRS in oxygen/helium mixtures.
