Abstract

We report a Ti:sapphire-pumped optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on KT1OPO4 (KTP) capable of producing 75 fs pulses at high repetition rate (90 MHz) and hundreds of mW of average output power. We believe this is the first demonstration of a femtosecond (fs) OPO externally pumped by a cw mode-locked solid-state laser and the shortest tunable pulses ever generated from an OPO.
