Abstract
In previous works1,2 we investigated a remote technique for the determination of the elemental content of different salt water solutions by linear spectra originated in the plasma produced at the water surface under the influence of a powerful laser beam. In the 250-700-nm wavelength range, integral spectra emission lines of the main water components (H, O), air (N, O) and linear spectra of added elements (Fe, Na, Ba, Br, Mg, Ca) are clearly observed in the background of continuous plasma radiation. Unfortunately, using integral emission spectra we cannot obtain desirable levels of sensitivity (0.1 mass %).
