Abstract
Photorefractive materials have been under active study and development since the first reported observation of the photorefractive effect in 1966. Current efforts cover a number of areas, including (1) development of new materials (e.g., II-VI bulk semiconductors and III—V MQWs), (2) characterization and optimization of existing materials (e.g., BaTio3), and (3) studies of wave interactions particular to specific materials (e.g., large signal effects in sillenites and semiconductors).
