Abstract

NaCl F-centers1 have been shown to be a very good medium for generation of femtosecond pulses near 1.5 μm.2 Due to its very broad gain bandwidth, NaCl combines the capability of femtosecond pulse generation with tunability. Recently, NaCl has been shown to be an excellent medium for amplification as well.3
