Abstract

Surface-normal symmetric self-electroptic effect devices (S-SEEDs)1 have been successfully demonstrated in parallel digital optics systems.1 Improvements are sought to operate with low bias voltages to reduce switching energy and increase system speed, and ultimately be compatible with electronics technology.3
