Abstract

Motivated by the desire to achieve quantum wires in semiconductors and to use their unique features for new types of optical devices, we have studied the linear and nonlinear optical properties of (AAs)m(GaAs)n submonolayer superlattices (m, n < 1), also called fractional layer superlattices (FLS).
