Efficient, high energy, tunable blue light source

Abstract

We report the development of an efficient, high energy, tunable blue light source based on sum frequency mixing 1.06-μm light from a Nd:YAG laser and the −800-nm output from a Ti:Al2O3 laser. The Ti:Al2O3 laser itself is pumped by a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser providing a traceable all-solid-state laser system. A schematic of the experimental arrangement is shown in Fig. 1.
