Abstract

GaAs/AlGaAs MQW ridge waveguide lasers1 are promising candidates for use in high-speed short distance optical transmission systems, as, e.g., optical interconnects in advanced computer systems. Excellent high-speed and high-temperature capabilities have been achieved with optimized devices.2,3
