Abstract
Since the discovery in 1986 of photo-induced second-harmonic generation in optical fibers,1 much work has been aimed at uncovering the underling physical mechanism of this self-organizing effect Recently, several authors have proposed the coherent photogalvanic effect to explain how fibers become second-harmonic generators.2-4
