Abstract

Here we report the trapping behavior of a two dimension nanoscale optical lattice, enhanced by plasmon resonance in fluid. The optical potential is created by a two dimensional square lattice of metallic nanosturcutures, illuminated by an infared laser beam to excite their plasmon resonance. We observe both single and multiple particles trapping with very low optical power required. Our experiment here can be used for lab on a chip preconcentration of bacteria, viruses, and nano particles.
