Abstract

Methods and prototype instrumentation suitable for near surface imaging in tissues are presented. These methods are designed to address two main applications: a) vein imaging to assist cannulation and venipuncture of near surface veins; b) noncontact biometric identification using distinguishing traits in the human hand.
