Abstract

We demonstrate a novel photonic-crystal nanobeam air-mode cavity with high-Q and high-sensitivity for refractive-index sensing. For the air-mode, the light is strongly localized inside the air-region. The high-Q ~5.0×106 and high-sensitivity of 537.8nm/RIU are achieved.
