Characterization of optical resolution photoacoustic microscopy in comparison to confocal microscopy

Abstract

Lateral resolution and depth discrimination in turbid samples was measured with optical resolution photoacoustic microscopy (ORPAM) and compared to confocal microscopy (CM). ORPAM signal strength and CM resolution were relatively less affected by scattering.
