External modulation technique for the generation of strict linearly chirped continuous waves

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate generation of optical linearly chirped frequency continue waves by an external modulation technique over 2.5 GHz. The highest relative accuracy of 4.7 % and the best linearity of 0.9997 are measured and analyzed.
