Photonic Stellar Interferometry: To the Diffraction Limit and Beyond

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Photonic technologies hold immense promise to revolutionise astronomical instrumentation. In addition to miniature robust alignment-free optical systems, new functionalities available in the photonic domain may be incorporated. Innovative reformulation of high resolution imaging systems to empower new generation large telescopes will be discussed.
