Abstract

We have generated a 6-14 picosecond optical pulses at 200-kHz repetition rate from a hybrid MOPA seeded by a 1064-nm gain-switched distributed-feedback-Bragg laser diode. Thanks to the narrow gain bandwidth of Nd doped bulk-crystal amplifiers, the optical pulse-width was tunable by changing the laser diode chip temperature.
