Synchronously-pumped microring resonator for efficient optical comb generation

Abstract

Synchronous pumping of microring resonators is proposed for power-efficient optical comb generation. It is shown that the average power requirement is reduced by the duty cycle of the pulse, when compared with the continuous-wave case.
