Filamentation of sub-TW mid-IR pulses in ambient air

Abstract

We study properties of filaments ignited by multi-millijoule, 90-fs mid-IR pulses centered at 3.9 µm. The studies are performed by monitoring plasma density distribution and losses as well as beam profiles at different focusing conditions.
