Entanglement of Quantum Memories by Interfering Distinguishable Photons

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Time-resolved photon detection can be used to generate entanglement between non-identical qubits that emit distinguishable photons, which may be necessary for future modular quantum systems. We experimentally realize this process using remotely trapped ytterbium ions.
