A 97-ps laser-pulse generation by two-stage stimulated Brillouin and Raman scattering

Abstract

We demonstrate a pulse temporal compression technique based on a combination of Stimulated Brillouin scattering and subsequent Stimulated Raman scattering. A 97-ps pulse compressed from an 8-ns Q-switched Nd:YAG pulse laser is obtained.
