Abstract

We present a new high power, high energy, industrial GHz femtosecond laser source. The laser source is a hybrid architecture based on a high pulse repetition rate oscillator with amplifiers enabling GHz-bursts up to 100W of average power. First ablation tests of the laser source in percussion drilling show a 3 times increase in ablation efficiency.
