Spectral Tuning of Multiple Germanium Vacancy Centers in Diamond with Mechanical Strain

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate spectral tuning of the optical transitions of the germanium vacancy (GeV) center using strain in a diamond microcantilever. The GeV shows a large strain susceptibility on the order of PHz/strain. Spectral alignment of two initially spectrally separated GeVs is achieved.
