Third-Order Nonlinear Optical Coefficients of Si and GaAs in the Near-Infrared Spectral Region

Abstract

The third-order optical nonlinearities of Si and GaAs have been characterized throughout the near-infrared spectral region (1.1-2 μm) using multiple ultrafast spectroscopic techniques. These results have been independently confirmed at two different laboratories.
