Boosting Second-Harmonic Generation in Nonlinear Metasurfaces with Bound States in the Continuum

Abstract

We apply the concept of bound states in the continuum to nonlinear metasurfaces with a broken in-plane symmetry and realize high-Q resonances boosting dramatically the SHG efficiency via a smart asymmetry engineering.
