Abstract

We proposed the use of a femtosecond optical frequency comb for length measurement based on pulse trains’ destructive interference. The theoretical derivation shows that the present technique offers a significantly different approach to length measurement. Preliminary experiment results of the destructive interference with different pairs of pulse trains show the possibility of the proposal method.
