Abstract

We study the transient optical response of monolayer MoS2 with an unprecedented temporal resolution. From the build-up dynamics of the transient signal around A/B excitonic peaks we directly extract the characteristic time-scale for exciton formation process, which ranges between 15 and 35 fs.
