Large-scale Metasurface Design using the Adjoint Sensitivity Technique

Abstract

We introduce a general technique for the design of metasurfaces composed of a large number of meta-atoms that enables efficient multifunctional metasurfaces. As a proof-of-concept, we demonstrate a metalens with 0.78NA and 74% focusing efficiency.
