Observation of stimulated Brillouin scattering and Brillouin frequency comb generation in diamond

Abstract

We report evidence for stimulated Brillouin scattering in diamond using an intense Raman-generated intracavity pump. Configurations are described for producing a single Stokes line and a Brillouin frequency comb containing up to the 22 orders spaced over 1.55 THz.
