Abstract

Generation of relativistically intense mid-infrared pulses in the spectral range of 2-6μm with 15.5mJ pulse energy by frequency downconversion from a 800nm Ti:sapphire laser is demonstrated. The conversion efficiency is as high as 5.2%.
