Subcycle band structure movie of lightwave-driven Dirac currents

Abstract

The first subcycle angle-resolved photoemission study reveals how an intense terahertz field drives topologically protected Dirac currents on the surface of Bi2Te3. Spin-momentum locking enables fully ballistic lightwave currents over several 100 nm.
