Optimization of Higher-Order Transverse Modes of Cylindrical Vector Beams for Enhanced Spatial Resolution in Image Subtraction

Abstract

We demonstrate the enhancement of spatial resolution of subtraction imaging in confocal laser scanning microscopy utilizing radially and azimuthally polarized, higher-order mode beams. The spatial resolution close to 100 nm is experimentally achieved.
