High-Power Wide-Bandwidth 1.55-μm Directly Modulated DFB Lasers for Free Space Optical Communications

Abstract

Single-mode directly modulated distributed feedback (DFB) lasers working at 1.55-μm with high power of 160 mW output, SMSR beyond 50 dB and large bandwidth of 8.5 GHz are demonstrated.
