Enhancing the detection sensitivity of temporal imaging by distributed Raman amplification

Abstract

Distributed Raman amplification is integrated into the temporal imaging system for the first time to enhance the detection sensitivity. 6.7-dB sensitivity improvement has been experimentally demonstrated for a 20-nm-bandwidth signal by a 170-mW Raman pump.
