Lasing in Si3N4-Organic Hybrid (SiNOH) Spiral Resonators

Abstract

We demonstrate lasing in optically pumped hybrid devices that combine passive Si3N4 waveguides with active organic cladding materials. Si3N4-organic hybrid (SiNOH) lasers lend themselves to low-cost integration and parallel read-out of large-scale sensor arrays.
