Direct Frequency Locking of a Diode Laser to a Meter-Long High-Finesse Fiber Fabry-Perot Cavity

Abstract

We report the demonstration of directly locking the frequency of a diode laser to a meter-long, high-finesse (~1000) fiber Fabry-Perot cavity. This work can serve as a key step toward ultra-sensitive infrasonic strain sensors.
