Photonic Crystal Design with Mix and Match Unit Cells for Mode Manipulation

Abstract

We report simulations and experimental measurement of a photonic crystal designed with mix and match unit cells. Our results enable extreme mode manipulation and potentially also phase and amplitude modification using non-traditional unit cell shapes.
