Quasicoherent Receivers for Access Networks Using Fullwave Rectification Based Envelope Detection

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel quasicoherent receiver architecture based on envelope detection employing fullwave rectification. Signaling rates of up to 18 GBaud (PAM-2) were experimentally achieved using low receiver bandwidths and low received powers.
