A hybrid nanowire photo-detector integrated in a silicon photonic crystal

Abstract

We demonstrate hybridization of silicon photonic crystals with single nanowires to create on-chip photo-detectors. The measured photo-current is enhanced by the photonic crystal optical antenna.
