Filling the 5-10 THz gap using Ge-based photoconductive emitter

Abstract

Generating a continuous spectrum covering the 5-10 THz range is difficult due to strong THz absorption in polar materials. We demonstrate that a photoconductive emitter based on non-polar germanium is able to achieve this goal.
