Catastrophic Degradation in High-Power Buried Heterostructure Quantum Cascade Lasers

Abstract

Investigation of catastrophic degradation in high-power, buried-heterostructure quantum cascade lasers, using focused ion beam and high-resolution TEM techniques, has revealed dislocations generated, as a result of degradation, mostly in areas away from the active region.
