Abstract

In the talk an attempt is made to differentiate the holographic method from stereoscopic and multi-stereoscopic imaging. The resulting physical-technical challenges to a practical implementation are discussed and an overview is given that summarizes the meanwhile very diverse application scenarios, which result from the holographic principle of wave field recording and reconstruction.
