Polarization independent resonant bandstop filters using 1D periodic layers with asymmetric profiles

Abstract

We demonstrate polarization independent guided-mode resonance bandstop filters utilizing nondegenrate leaky modes excited with light at normal incidence. Narrowband and wideband filters are obtained by controlling the grating profile and modulation strength.
