Abstract

Ovarian cancer has the highest mortality of all gynecologic cancers. Patients at high risk need technologies available that can detect early malignant changes. Optical techniques, possibly in conjunction with proteomic analyses of blood serum, will play an important role in the screening of high risk patients as well as diagnostic confirmation during surgical interventions.
