Indirectly-seeded optical parametric generation in periodically poled lithium niobate

Abstract

In periodically-poled lithium niobate the nonlinearity is large enough that processes that are not appropriately quasi-phase-matched may occur. One of these processes is the sumfrequency mixing between the pump and the signal beams that occurs in optical parametric generation, which gives rise to another beam with a wavelength λm given by
