Abstract

New nonlinear host/guest polymers were fabricated. Thin films of these polymers showed very large nonlinear absorption coefficients as well as polymer dependent self-focusing and self-defocusing due to nonlinear refraction. In addition a novel reversible nonlinear scattering process is observed in polycarbonate based host polymers.
