Abstract

A new toplogical field structure in a partially coherent field, called a correlation vortex, is described and experimentally verified in white light. Unlike a conventional optical vortex that exists in a coherent beam, a correlation vortex is a statistical phenomenon existing between states having an arbitrary degree of temporal coherence.
